The 2017 Oncology Pharmacy Preparatory Review and Recertification Course will be held April 27 – April 29, 2017 in San Diego, California and
will offer 21.5 contact hours of live continuing pharmacy education credit. An additional 5.25 contact hours of home study continuing pharmacy
education credit will also be available following the live course (available July 1, 2017). The course is designed to assist the experienced clinician in
identifying knowledge gaps in the various content domains covered on the BPS board examination and assumes the learner meets the eligibility requirements
to sit for the BPS specialty examination. This course was revamped in 2014 to incorporate symptom management topics within disease state presentations
whenever possible to mimic BPS exam questions and realworld scenarios. The fall examination is scheduled to be administered in September and October of 2017.
The Oncology Pharmacy Preparatory Review and Recertification Course is approved by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties for recertification credit for
Board Certified Oncology Pharmacists (BCOP). This course is an excellent way for the BCOP to get updates on a broad array of oncology topics.

The Oncology Pharmacy Preparatory Review and Recertification Course is developed for pharmacy professionals
preparing for the Oncology Pharmacy Specialty Certification Examination administered by the Board of Pharmacy
Specialties (BPS) and for those seeking a self-paced review and refresher of relevant disease states. In addition,
Board Certified Oncology Pharmacy specialists (BCOPs) seeking recertification through continuing education may use
the course to earn recertification credit.
Offered twice a year the Oncology Pharmacy Home Study Syllabus for Recertification consists
of a collection of journal articles that focuses on advances across the four domains of oncology
specialty practice. The home study syllabus will be a series of current articles from the primary
oncology literature, each with learning objectives, and a web-based posttest covering the full
series of articles. The articles will be made available either in print or through electronic
access, depending upon availability from the copyright holder.
The BCOP Clinical Sessions, available both live and as a Web-based program for home study, will explore cutting-edge
and contemporary therapeutic topics. The BCOP Clinical Sessions will be presented live annually as embedded programming
at the ACCP Annual Meeting (October), and repeated live at the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting (December). The sessions
will be audio recorded as an online product for home study on demand, following their initial live presentation at the
ACCP Annual Meeting. Successful completion of a web-based posttest will be required to earn recertification credit for
the clinical sessions, live or home study.
The webinar series, presented twice annually with a new topic for each presentation, will be offered live, for
distance learning, and audio recorded, for home study. The webinar series will employ a flipped classroom
instructional approach. Registrants will be assigned pre-readings to provide background on the subject matter
for the webinar, and a web-based pre-assessment, to determine their understanding of the pre-assigned material.
This presentation will be audio recorded for online access at a specific time. Immediately after this presentation,
participants in the live webinar format will participate, via webinar, in a live, prescheduled question and answer
sessions lead by faculty. This session, to be audio recorded for home study, will allow participants to ask clarifying
questions about the content and its application to practice.
