Welcome to the 2026–2027 New Practitioners Forum!
I hope your summer treated you well, whether that meant travel, a new job, a new city, or just a chance to recharge before the year picks up again. If you're newly graduated, congratulations, and if you're returning, welcome back. NPF exists to be your professional home as you navigate these early years of practice.
Our mission is one I'm excited about, and it has a simple focus: to give new practitioners a community and a collective voice as they transition into pharmacy practice. That mission only means something because of who makes up this forum: thousands of people across the country, practicing in different areas, at different stages, and bringing different perspectives. That diversity brings so much value, and I can't wait to see it in action this year!
If you’re looking for a way to get involved this fall, there are two great opportunities to consider:
- Serve as a CV reviewer through the CV Review Program and help students and new practitioners strengthen their application materials. It’s a short-term volunteer opportunity you can complete on your own schedule.
- Join ASHP’s Guided Mentorship Program as a mentor or mentee and build meaningful professional connections across the ASHP community. This six-month program is a more structured way to give back, learn from others, and stay engaged throughout the year.
Whether you have a few hours to offer or are ready for a longer-term connection, these opportunities are meaningful ways to give back, grow your network, and make the most of your NPF experience this year.
I also want to recognize everyone newly appointed to an advisory group this year. These groups play an important role in shaping the Forum’s work, and I can’t wait to share the projects and contributions they will create this year.
As you explore ways to get involved and follow the work of our advisory groups, we also want to know what you need and want from NPF. If there’s a resource that doesn’t exist yet, a gap you keep running into, or a way we could better support you, let us know. This forum works best when it’s shaped by the people it serves, and we’d love to hear what would be most helpful for you.
