September 2026
Dear Pharmacy Friends,
As we turn the page of summer, there is a prominent theme that I hope we can carry forward as we move into the cool-down of fall. Like many of you, my family was all-in for the FIFA World Cup. In addition to the amazing athletics, the inspiring hope for a Cinderella story, and the gut-wrenching end-of-the-roads, there were brilliant moments of beauty, joy and humanity at its finest. When I pivot to my wishes for our incredible section this year, the fabric of those moments is what I hope we can carry forward into pharmacy education – extending kindness and generosity, celebrating victories, embracing connection, and harnessing excitement for the future. Friends, I am so happy to introduce you to our exceptional starting lineup leading the Section of Pharmacy Educators’ (SPE) efforts this year:
We will continue to benefit from the wisdom, humor, and dedication of Dale English II, RPh, BSPharm, PharmD, FASHP as Chair-Elect. Dale uniquely conveys a broad perspective and then always points us back to “true north”. I’ve had the honor of working alongside Dale in the House of Delegates and in SPE, and I am so happy to serve alongside him again.
We welcome Tina M. Hamilton, PharmD, BCPS as Director-at-Large Elect. Tina has multiyear experience serving on the Post-Graduate Education and Learning Experiences (PELE) SAG. Her expertise in primary care, medication safety, federal pharmacy practice, and precepting will bring great depth to our team!
We are thrilled to have Christy M. Norman, PharmD, MS, BCPS, CPEL, FASHP as our Board of Directors Liaison. Christy is a trailblazer and strategic thinker with a heart for education. I am so glad we will benefit from her insight and guidance this year!

- Amy Henneman, PharmD, BCACP, BCPS, CDCES – Director-at-Large
- Claire Latiolais, PharmD, MS – Director-at-Large

Rebecca Berhanu-Brooks, PharmD, BCPS, ASHP Director of Member Relations for SPE, will again partner with us and help facilitate the team’s work. Rebecca’s enthusiasm, commitment and ability to empower others keeps us moving forward and laughing in the process.
With great gratitude, we look forward to celebrating the next victories of former section chair, Jennifer Arnoldi, PharmD, BCPS, who has served the executive committee for the last 3 years. She consistently brought great discernment, meticulous diligence, and a warm heart to every task at hand. Jenn, we will miss you.
Last year, we consistently counted on the guidance, re-framing and expertise of Lisa Gersema, BSPharm, , MHA, BCPS, CPEL, FASHP, FMSHP as Board of Directors Liaison. Lisa, I will be forever grateful for your generosity, mentorship and kindness
In each Chair’s message, I hope to help bring connection with ASHP and our section to you through highlights, opportunities, and important dates. Please make sure you check those out below. I cannot thank each of you enough for the extraordinary opportunity to serve as your chair. As you move through this year, I hope you reach out to share your victories, your challenges, and your ideas on how SPE can help you – we are better together!
